Attorney Andrew J. Golden (Managing Partner)

 

Attorney Golden is a 2009 graduate of Marquette University Law School, where he furthered the law school's focus on public interest and non-profit law by serving as the President of the Public Interest Law Society, overseeing an expansion of the summer fellowship program.  During law school, he interned at Centro Legal and the State Public Defender's office, where he was actively involved in the defense of homicide and sexual assault cases.  

 

He joined Lagmann in February of 2013 and currently focuses his practice on trial and appellate level criminal defense, juvenile law, CHIPS and JIPS, TPR cases, and mental health cases. Attorney Golden is also certified as a Guardian ad Litem, and is regularly appointed to represent wards in both adult and juvenile court proceedings.

 

 

Attorney Christopher S. Hammond

 

Attorney Christopher Hammond is a 2018 Marquette University Law School graduate. While at Marquette, Attorney Hammond interned at the Milwaukee Public Defender’s Office, was a Guardian ad Litem Intern at Legal Aid Society, and was a judicial intern in the Milwaukee County Circuit Court General Felony Division. After Law School, he went into solo practice focusing primarily on criminal law.

 

Attorney Hammond joined Lagmann Inc.’s staff in April 2021 and focuses his practice on family and criminal matters. 

 

Attorney Kirk D. Henley

 

Attorney Kirk D. Henley studied at Marquette University Law School. While at law school, he volunteered at the Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinic at the Milwaukee Justice Center as well as the Domestic Violence Injunction Hearings Clinic and Law and Entrepreneurship Clinic. Additionally, he represented Marquette University Law School at the Chicago Bar Association’s Moot Court Competition. Before joining the staff at Lagmann Inc, Kirk clerked for Judge Adelman at the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

 

Attorney Henley joined Lagmann Inc.’s staff in June 2020 and focuses his practice on family and trial and appellate-level criminal matters. 

 

Attorney Matt Plummer

 

Attorney Plummer is a 2011 graduate of Marquette University Law School. His practice focuses on family law, creditor/debtor law, guardianship and mediation. While in law school, he was a Public Interest Law Society Fellow, and also served as an intern for the U.S. Trustee’s Office for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

 

Attorney Plummer joined Lagmann in November 2017 and focuses his practice on Guardianship and Criminal Law.

 

 

Attorney Amanda Riek

 

Amanda K. Riek is a staff attorney in the Madison Office of Lagmann, Inc. Her practice focuses exclusively on criminal defense with an emphasis on high level felonies and OWI cases. Amanda graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Leadership with comprehensive honors in 2008 and from the University of Wisconsin Law School with a certificate in Criminal Law in 2011. She spent the previous decade serving Wisconsin as an Assistant State Public Defender primarily in Columbia County but also in Sauk and Dane County.

 

Amanda is a board member of the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (WACDL), a founding member of the WACDL Women's Caucus, a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), a member of the National College for DUI Defense (NCDD), and president of the Columbia County Bar Association. This coming year Amanda will serve on several national committees: co-chair of the NCDD's National Task Force Ethics Committee, the NCDD's National Task Force on Trial Advocacy, and NACDL's Trial Penalty Committee. In her spare time, Amanda travels nationally to play volleyball, loves to cook, enjoys domestic and international travel, and camps as often as she can.

 

Attorney Riek joined Lagmann Inc.’s staff in September 2021 and focuses her practice on criminal matters. 

 

Attorney Nicholas Weege

 

Attorney Weege graduated Marquette University Law School in 2020. During his time he interned for the Honorable Lisa Neaubauer and the Milwaukee County Community Economic Development Division. He also volunteered for the Milwaukee Justice Center.

 

Attorney Weege interned for Lagmann in 2016, and has gladly rejoined the firm as an attorney in June 2020. He focuses his practice on creditor's rights, tenant's rights bankruptcy, foreclosure defense, and criminal law.

 

 

Thor Heidrek Templin, Administrator

 

Our administrator is a native of Milwaukee's near south side and graduate of South Division High School.  Growing up bilingual with German and English in a Spanish-speaking neighborhood, he earned undergraduate and master's degrees in German and Scandinavian Studies from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.  After spending some years teaching German at UW-Madison and at Western Kentucky University (Bowling Green, KY), he moved back to Milwaukee and attended law school at Marquette University, where we represented Marquette at national and international mediation advocacy competitions, all the while concurrently working as a records clerk at the Wisconsin Department of Corrections and completing a graduate certificate in Dispute Resolution.  In addition to his law degree, he has a Master's degree in Dispute Resolution from Marquette University.  He serves as a mediator (including family law mediations with or without attorneys) and the administrator for the firm.
